CEREC One-Visit Crowns

In the past, restoring a compromised tooth meant undergoing a dental impression, wearing a temporary, and waiting weeks to receive your permanent crown. Today, there’s CEREC: the state-of-the-art way to custom-mill precise restorations in a single office visit. Do you want to smile more? You can, with CEREC!

How does CEREC work?
CEREC stands for Chairside Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It’s a computer-aided milling system that creates custom crowns faster than ever before. Dr. Imrek also uses this technology to create three-quarter crowns (inlays and onlays), as well as veneers.

To begin the process, Dr. Imrek will prepare your tooth and scan it with an electronic camera. You’ll be able to see the image on a video screen. The CEREC machine uses this information to fabricate your crown while you wait. Dr. Imrek can design, create, and place your restoration in a single office visit. It’s that easy!

What are CEREC restorations made from?
CEREC restorations are crafted from biocompatible ceramic Blocs. The ceramic looks and feels natural and resists decay. Countless smiles across the globe have benefitted from this safe, proven, and durable material.

Do CEREC crowns look like real teeth?
Absolutely! CEREC restorations look and feel completely natural. Dr. Imrek will color-match your restoration to your natural tooth shade, so your crown will blend seamlessly with your existing smile. CEREC restorations can revitalize your smile and renew confidence in your appearance.

Will you preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible?
Yes, our goal is to conserve as much of your natural tooth as we can, and CEREC makes that possible. CEREC restorations, bonded firmly and durably, give teeth increased stability. This means that we can often apply a three-quarter crown instead of a full crown, and preserve tooth structure in the process.

How long do CEREC restorations last?
With proper care, including daily brushing and flossing and six-month checkups and cleanings, your CEREC crown may last a lifetime.
